چکیده
We aimed at evaluating the effect of short-duration stair climbing–descending exercise (ST-EX) on 24-hour blood glucose (BG) response in people with type 2 diabetes (T2D). Seven men (age, 70.1 ± 1.3 years) uncomplicated T2D consumed three meals per day according to a meal plan for patients diabetes. Participants completed one session ST-EX 60 and 120 min after each first (ST-EX day), did not perform following (REST day). Each comprised two 3-min bouts brisk climbing second floor, followed by walking down floor. The BG levels experimental days were recorded using continuous monitoring device. mean level area under curve period significantly lower than those same REST (both p < 0.05). duration hyperglycemia (BG > 10 mmol/L) was shorter that (p Repeated might be an effective strategy improve excursions T2D.

متن کاملSeven days of aerobic exercise training improves conduit artery blood flow following glucose ingestion in patients with type 2 diabetes.
The vasodilatory effects of insulin account for up to 40% of insulin-mediated glucose disposal; however, insulin-stimulated vasodilation is impaired in individuals with type 2 diabetes, limiting perfusion and delivery of glucose and insulin to target tissues. To determine whether exercise training improves conduit artery blood flow following glucose ingestion, a stimulus for increasing circulat...

متن کاملRosiglitazone improves exercise capacity in individuals with type 2 diabetes.
OBJECTIVE Although exercise is recommended as a cornerstone of treatment for type 2 diabetes, it is often poorly adopted by patients. We have noted that even in the absence of apparent cardiovascular disease, persons with type 2 diabetes have an impaired ability to carry out maximal exercise, and the impairment is correlated with insulin resistance and endothelial dysfunction. We hypothesized t...
